Opening on July 27 the museum will be displaying 16 looks worn by the 14-time Grammy Award winning artist along with storyboards, music awards and instruments.
This exhibition celebrates the artist’s success from her UK time in her tour and will highlight the legacy of the icon that Swift has become.
Many of the items will be on display for the first time and the showing will reflect on her career from her youth to the present day.
There are stops on the trail and each piece will display a verse of her career from the customised cowboy boots in her country career to her ruffled dress worn in her music video for her single Fortnight, from the album The Tortured Poets Department in 2024.
Kate Bailey, Senior Curator, Theatre & Performance, said: “We are delighted to be able to display a range of iconic looks worn by Taylor Swift at the V&A this summer. Each celebrating a chapter in the artist’s musical journey. Taylor Swift’s songs like objects tell stories, often drawing from art, history and literature. We hope this theatrical trail across the museum will inspire curious visitors to discover more about the performer, her creativity and V&A objects.”
The exhibition will be on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum from 27 July 2024 to 8 September 2024 for further details visit: https://www.vam.ac.uk/exhibitions/taylor-swift-songbook-trail
