A very special type of café has just opened on the Island, giving visitors the chance to have a coffee while playing with some of the furry residents of this establishment.
HelpAWS Puppy Café is located on Anse Mamin Beach and exists after Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet joined forces to create this pooch post in the region.
The venture came from Charlene Troubetzkoy daughter-in-law of Karolin Troubetzkoy, the owner of Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet.
The inspiration for this project came after the founder spent much time working for animal welfare, rescuing, rehabilitating and finding home for stray puppies on the Island.
St Lucia’s rescue puppies are found at the location and there are opportunities of adopting from this site.
The HelpAWS Puppy Café offers coffees, smoothies, sandwiches and desserts for those looking for their canine fix.
Karolin Troubetzkoy, owner of Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet, said: “There is, of course, a very special family connection for me because HelpAWS was founded by my daughter-in-law Charlene. I have watched with enormous admiration as she and her team have built an organisation that has transformed the lives of so many animals. But our support for the Puppy Café is about much more than family. We genuinely believe in what HelpAWS is doing and in the importance of responsible animal welfare in Saint Lucia. At Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet, we have always believed that tourism should make a positive contribution to the island we call home, and this initiative fits beautifully with that philosophy. And there is something rather wonderful about giving our guests the opportunity to meet these puppies. They may come in for a coffee and a cuddle – and perhaps leave Saint Lucia having found a new member of the family.”
