A powerful exhibition highlighting the works of Joshua Reynolds, J.M.W. Turner, Yinka Shonibare. John Singleton Copley and Hew Locke. It explores the relations of past ages in over 100 major contemporary and historic works at the Royal Academy of Arts.

Questioning power, representation and history, linking contemporary works to pieces from the past 250 years to present. This collects a mindset in which we can gather reflection.

This focal part is being exhibited in the main gallery and shall reflect the RA’s collection of artworks on the themes of the gallery’s colonial past.

The exhibition will be held from 3rd February to 28th April 2024 and there will be a talk on the mantra titled *How does art reframe history? On Thursday 22nd February at 6.30 pm in the Benjamin West Lecture Theatre at Burlington Gardens, or there will be a digital livestream.

When archaeologist and documentary filmmaker Peter Sommer walked 2000 miles from Troy to Turkey, he retraced the route of Alexander the Great. This became an inspiration to form his own travel company in 2002 and has won awards and accolades for his commitment to bespoke travel.

It’s show time at Selfridge’s and what better way to celebrate the Christmas season with a musical extravaganza! 

A unique bar experience that tells the story not only of the Cabaret in Berlin, it also reflects the evolution of a highly acclaimed London performance.  

The Kit Kat Club in Selfridge’s is identifiable by the champagne cocktails and cuvees whilst partnering with dancers at select moments throughout the course of a visit. 

The producers of the show itself say “Since our production of CABARET AT THE KIT KAT CLUB opened in London in 2021, both the musical itself and the pre-show entertainment that invites audiences into its world have been widely described as one of the greatest theatrical experiences in the West End. When we heard about Selfridges’ festive theme being ‘Showtime!’, we knew we’d found our perfect partnership, as well as the most brilliant space on their 4th Floor to take the decadence of the Kit Kat Club outside of our building for the very first time.” 

This exceptional piece of drama leaves visitors with the chance to purchase memorabilia from the namesake. For five weeks over the festivities the bar will be open from 12pm to 10pm daily, providing an eclectic mix of entertainment. 

This formation of the two partnering, be it the most extravagant department store or the West End Production, will allow partakers to view costumes up close, enjoy the repertoire and get merry all under one roof. 

In its thirteenth year of partnerships with friends, this time Claridge’s has combined efforts to show a Louis Vuitton tree featured inside two giant size cases.  

Created in 1875 the ever-famous Louis Vuitton trunk which depicts “the art of travel” has long been accompanied by the most precious and essential effects. 

This large sculptural creation stands with two wardrobe trunks at 5.2 metres

high each, adorned with Claridge’s travel stickers and an oversized travel tag.  

Inside the cases there are 15 vertical chrome trunks that stand at different sizes and make the silhouette of a Christmas tree in an Art Deco theme. Scattered amongst the tree in a snowy landscape are 21 Louis Vuitton Mascots, including Father Christmas himself. This all can be found in Claridge’s black and white marble lobby.

Both founded in 1854, there has been a long relationship with the brand, having opened its first London store around the corner from Claridge’s.  

With a relationship that is long standing, It is not the first time that Louis Vuitton himself came across Claridge’s. In the 1850s Vuitton became the personal layetier of Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III and her winter residence was Claridge’s.  

Claridge’s General Manager Paul Jackson said of the collaboration “Christmas is the most magical time for us here at the hotel and we look forward to welcoming guests and seeing visitors immerse themselves in Louis Vuitton’s world.” 

The Tate Modern is to represent the unprecedented work of Yoko Ono in February 2024. Covering over seven decades of the artist’s showmanship, there will be a theme of the mindset that brought the collection together. Echoing her expressionist pathway there will be more than 200 works including installations, films, music, and photography. The Tate writes that it will reveal a radical approach to language, art and participation that continues to speak to the present moment.  

Her avant-garde creativity has been shaped through moving in artistic circles in Tokyo and New York and the exhibition starts with her early pivotal roles defined in “instructions”. She takes a humorous attitude to working with the mind, asking her subject to “listen to a heartbeat” and “step in all puddles in the city”. Her craftmanship expresses a gratitude for life and each parody is a moment shared by the mind of the artist. The typescript draft of Ono’s anthology “Grapefruit” will be displayed for the first time at the Tate Modern with her instructions written between 1953 and 1964.  

The centre of the exhibition will reflect Ono’s five year stay in London from 1966, when she met artists including her husband and collaborator John Lennon. Key features are abstract in the sense that it paints a picture in a stream of consciousness like “sky” which has been ever present in Ono’s life, being a child fleeing the war in Japan, where she found comfort and solace in her core. This collection features Ono’s 1966 SKY TV broadcast of the sky above the Tate Modern. 

Ono’s most famous campaign reflects her mentality when she and her late husband sent acorns to world leaders and did a billboard campaign of “War is Over” in 1969. Her work has been a constant evolving patter of humanitarianism and a play on the attention of the beholder. The exhibition reflects the interaction of Ono’s mantras and in this exhibition The Tate has taken its title from Ono’s Music in the Mind concerts and events in London and Liverpool in 1966 and 1967. 

Yoko Ono: Music of The Mind is running from 15th February 2024 until 1st September 2024. Tate Members get unlimited free entry to all Tate Exhibitions.

The Design Museum are to curate an exhibition of the inspirations of legendary film director Tim Burton.

Tim Burton has created nineteen films that have made him become a renowned global film director. From Sweeny Todd to Alice in Wonderland, this artistic fable of storytelling has led to him orchestrating his own themes through a worldwide tour of exhibition.

Travelling the globe, this show of his works is finally coming to the Design Museum in London from 25th October 2024 until 21st April 2025.

His own universe of artistic rights will show the public his production from being an illustrator, painter, photographer, and author, alongside his masterful director experience. The Design Museum has described him “As a multi-disciplinary artist his creations extend beyond the limits of mediums and formats.”

Created from his own archive of drawings, paintings, photographs, storyboards and props, the visitor is left with a multitude of references into this great mind of the beholder.

The exhibition is organized by Jenny He, Independent Curator, in collaboration with Tim Burton and adapted by Maria McLintock for the Design Museum.

Nicole Scherzinger stars in Andrew Loyd Webber’s celebrated production of Sunset Boulevard at the Savoy Theatre.

Radiant with expression this next exhibition of the Mash Gallery in Los Angeles gives a nostalgic insight into the journey of the life of the gallery owner, Haleh Mashian. Artist Yaghoub Jacob Souferzadeh will be showcasing his work in December for the first time in the luxury venue, but it is not the first time he and Mashian had met.

Contacted by the artist, Mashian made a visit to his studio only to find that this was the man who introduced her to art at the early age of eleven in Iran.

The artist’s work is one of a reflective account of Iran’s canvas set in landscapes of Northern Iran, particularly the enchanting Shomal region. His rose collections and more can attribute to his wide breadth of colour and textures within his paintings.

The Mash Gallery writes that “His work is characterized by meticulous attention to detail and a deep emotional connection to his birthplace.”
