In March 2026 the V&A will open a new exhibition that spans through the life and works of Elsa Schiaparelli down to its present Creative Director Daniel Roseberry.
From the 1920s to today, this show expresses the talent of its renowned creators, famous for their craft in couture.

Focusing on the history of fashion the museum explores the birth of the brand and its decades in cities such as Paris, New York and London. The study of the London faze is a key piece of this show and it looks at how the label has developed through its relationship with the satellite city.
Over 200 objects will be displayed alongside the most magical designs of the designer which will include an upside-down shoe hat and a ‘skeleton’ dress. This will be accompanied by accessories, jewellery, paintings, photographs, sculpture, furniture, perfumes and archive material.

Tristram Hunt, Director of the V&A, said: “Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art will celebrate one of the most ingenious and daring designers in fashion history. The V&A holds one of the largest and most important fashion collections in the world, and the foremost collection of Schiaparelli garments in Britain. Schiaparelli’s collaboration with artists and with the world of performance make the Maison and its founder an ideal subject for a spectacular exhibition at the V&A.”
