Created by founder Louis-François the three grandsons made it into the globally renowned House it is today after opening branches in London, Paris and New York.

The V&A said: “With an enviable client list of royalty and aristocracy, Cartier became known as ‘the jeweller of kings and the king of jewellers’ and later broadened its appeal thanks to the devotion of leading creatives from the worlds of cinema, music and fashion.”

A limited number of tickets are now on sale at the Museum, and pieces worn by a selection of high profilers are on view including those from Queen Elizabeth II and Rihana.

The signature style of Cartier is enhanced in three main sections of the opulent range, featuring a breathtaking display of tiaras.
